VALPARAISO CITY BUDGET

The 2010 Budget was introduced to the Valparaiso City Council on August 24, 2009. The public hearing on the budget will be held on September 14, 2009 at 7PM at City Hall. The final reading and passage will be October 12, 2009 at 7PM at City Hall

The 2009 Budget was presented to the Valparaiso City Council for first reading on August 25, 2008. The public hearing on the budget was held September 8, 2008 and the Council then met on September 22, 2008 to finalize the budget. The 2009 budget was approved by the Common Council by a 7-0 vote. Following that the budget was submitted to the Department of Local Government Finance (DLGF) for final approval and the setting of tax rates. The DLGF approved the 2009 Budget and set final tax rates in November 2009. Final Figures are shown in Blue.

The 2008 Budget was presented to the City Council for first reading on August 27, 2007. Following that, the Council conducted a public hearing on the Budget on September 10, 2007. The Council adopted the budget on September 24, 2007. On October 28, 2008 the DLGF approved the 2008 Budget. Final figures as approved are shown in Blue

The 2007 Budget was passed by the Valparaiso City Council on September 11, 2006 by a vote of 7-0. The budget, as approved was reviewed by the Indiana Department of Local Government Finance (DLGF). The DLGF then set the final tax rate for the city for 2007. Final figures as approved by the DLGF are shown in Blue.

The 2006 Budget was passed by the Valparaiso City Council unanimously on September 12, 2005. Figures shown in black are approved by the City Council. Final approved figures by the Department of Local Government Finance are shown in Blue.
